Deep Drawing
I have made a deep drawing device for making my own cockpit caps, wheel pants and engine cowls. It works as follows. Make a box with on the top many little drill holes for the vacuum. The vacuum is created with a vacuum cleaner. Leave the dustbag out of it for more vacuum power. A large hole is made on the front side of the box for the vacuum  pipe.

Attached on the box is the lid. The lid is a dubble layer kind so you can fix between the plastic. Secure the plastic by screwing the second lid on the first lid. Divide the screws equal over the lid so that no wrinkles arise on your parts. For heating it up I use two construcion lamps of 500W. For more heat I also use a aluminium A4 size to reflect the heat produced from the lamps.

After heating it up start the vacuumcleaner and close the lid quickly. Turn the lights and the vacuum cleaner off. Unscrew the secound lid and remove the plastic. There you have it. Your very own home made deep draw parts.

The easy way of deep draw.
I have made my own cockpit caps by using a mould from the cockpit and push it through a clear preheated plastic A4 which is fixed between a top and bottom plate. You have fast results but is not as precise when you use a vacuum.

The bottom plate inside edge (which shape is the same as the cockpit but a little oversize) is round to guide the plastic A4.
Before you can push the cockpit mould through the plastic A4 you have to firmly screw te top plate on the bottom plate and heat it up with a paint burner until it started to bent through. After this quickly push the cockpit mould through and let it cool down.

Cut the plastic A4 and you have a cockpit cap.
