Experiments
I like to experiment with different ways of construction with depron. Like making a round fuselage or sanding different layers into a round shape. Most of these planes never make it into the air because I allready think of another way of making a plane. Some of my experiments can be found here. Maybe you can find a idea for your own experiments.


F15

General:
In this experiment I wanted to test different layers for making a cockpit. It can be done but it is in my opinion to heavy. I also found it difficult to mount a motor without long wires. Because of this the center of cravity can't be reached with only the equipment. And I'm not putting extra weight into the plane.

F16

General:
I'm a big fan of the F16 aerodynamic shape. But is there a simple way to imitate this with depron. The disadvantage of a mid wing is it's strenght because it must be hollow to put in a ducted fan. The shape is very inportant for the perfromance of a ducted fan and the inside of the fuelage isn't perfect round. I especially like the cockpit and the form of the plane. Like the F15 I found it difficult to build in a motor. And of course there is the center of gravity problem again.

Rafale

General:
The canard wings of the ravale gives it a advantage to achieve the center of gravity. This time I wanted a round innerside of the fuselage. Because of this the effective diameter isn't very large. This means less power. I especially like bottum side of the front fuselage.

Ultimate

General:
For the best performance of a micro plane is to get as much of wingsurface by a low weight. And of course a powerful brushless micro motor with 1-2 cell battery. A biplane gives double the wingsurface by the same wingspan. It also added a little weight for the extra wing. In this experiment I used 2mm Depron. It probably needs more reinforcements.
